When we heard that the incredible street company Royal de Luxe was visiting Liverpool with a new show, we booked our train tickets faster than we could say YES PLEASE.
This time, to commemorate the Centenary of World War I, they brought with them Little Girl with her dog Xolo as well as a new character, Grandma. Slowly, they ambled along the city, wowing the crowds with their sheer magical presence and reminding us all of the ultimate sacrifice many courageous people made all these years ago. Our favourite moments include: realising how giant these giants truly are, admiring the engineering and manpower involved in making them walk about, Xolo stopping to lift his leg for a pee (!), Little Girl offering ten lucky kids to balance on her arms and Grandma switching to her comfy chair for a rest. Truly unforgettable.
Thank you Liverpool for such poignant event and the Lilliputians for their incredible hard work in the blistering sun.
We hear that the Giants are hopping to Limerick (Ireland) in September. A good enough reason to visit, we reckon!
